PROJECTS UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Former dc convention center SITE
washington, dc

Located in the heard of Downtown Washington, DC, the former Convention Center site will soon be home to the District's new, central place for congregation, living and shopping.  This 10.5 acre site, bound by H Street to the South, New York Avenue to the North, 11th Street to the West and 9th Street to the East, sits at the crossroads of all that represents Downtown DC.  Shopping, dining, commerce, entertainment, culture and professional sports all thrive in one of the Nation's most dynamic Downtowns.

Designed and merchandised to reflect the tastes and needs of Washingtonians, this project will include approximately 350,000 SF of street-oriented retail and dining space, nearly 1,000 condominiums and apartments and 500,000 SF of office space, all integrated with Downtown's existing streets, public spaces and general urban fabric.  In addition to its great commercial and residential amenities, the site will be anchored by a new central plaza, programmed to be the central gathering space for which Downtown has been longing for decades.  City life at its best, this project is a reflection of the magical transformation that Downtown has undergone and all for which it is poised.

After a intense, year and a half competition, the team including Williams Jackson Ewing, Hines and Charles E. Smith Residential was selected as developer of this internationally sought after project.
